BuBu Ice Cream and Dessert
Bubu Ice Cream and Dessert pours their hearts into every scoop and sprinkle to bring you the tastiest treats, made with love and the finest ingredients.
BuBu Ice Cream and Dessert is a widely-loved, Canberra-based ice cream chain with a presence in Tuggeranong and Dickson. BuBu is named after the owner’s beloved cat, who brings him endless joy and inspiration.
A collaboration with the design arm of award-winning interior design, branding and construction management firm Lekkier, this website design Canberra project aimed to establish BuBu’s online presence and unique brand ahead of the opening of their flagship Tuggeranong store.
Here’s how we did it
Responsive one-page design
We streamlined the user experience through a seamless and responsive one-page design, allowing visitors to easily get the key information they needed, browse BuBu’s extensive range of ice creams and desserts, and get a sense of BuBu’s identity and commitment to quality. The minimalist design made use of product carousels and a popup menu (see below) to maximise the efficient use of screen space.
Expert website copy
If the photos and images of mouth-watering ice creams weren’t enough, our evocative written copy was the cherry on top. Our unique description of each of BuBu’s 28 different ice cream offerings encourages customers to choose at least two or three (or more) flavours!
Warm colour palette
Our palette consisted of a variety of pastel colours to evoke feelings of warmth, happiness and – most importantly – sweet and delicious flavours.
Popup menu
We built a popup menu to showcase BuBu’s extensive selection of delightful ice cream and dessert flavours and offerings. The menu filters BuBu’s ice cream flavours into allergen categories (e.g. gluten-free, nut-free, etc), giving visitors an easy and helpful way to deicde which flavour is right for them.
